OREAS 614 is a certified reference material produced from a rhyodacite
host blended with Bowdens Ag–Pb–Zn ore, a silver concentrate, and Cu–Au
concentrates from DeGrussa and Mt Carlton.
The matrix replicates a felsic volcanic host carrying epithermal Ag–Au
mineralisation with added Cu-sulfide tenor, making OREAS 614 well-suited for
calibration and routine QA/QC of multi-element geochemical methods (fire assay
for Au/Ag; multi-acid digestion ICP-OES/MS for base metals; S/As/Pb/Zn
pathfinders) in exploration and metallurgical workflows.
OREAS 614 has been characterized using the following methods:
Gold via 25-50g fire assay with AAS or ICP-OES finis
Silver via 25-50g fire assay with Gravimetric finish
Gold via 10-40g aqua regia digestion with ICP-MS finish or AAS finish
Sulphur by infra-red combustion analysis
4-Acid digestion for full elemental suite ICP-OES/MS finish
Aqua regia digestion for full elemental suite ICP-OES finish or AAS
finish
Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each
method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of
accreditation.
